About Us

What we do

DNS; just three little letters representing such a critical component of your business. The functionality of DNS provides for availability, but also abets vulnerability. Because of their exposure on the Internet, DNS servers are among the most assailable computers that an organization employs. What appears to be simple is maddeningly complex – a black art of sorts.

DNSstuff.com is in business to help protect that necessary Achilles Heel.

Here at DNSstuff.com, our goal is to demystify DNS for you with a one-stop location containing every single tool and technique currently available. We make your job as easy as possible and we make your business as efficient as possible. Simply stated, we’re going to help save you time and money by enabling you to work smarter than you’ve ever been able to work before.

What makes DNSstuff unique? We’re glad you asked. There is no other place to find the slew of tools, resources, and expertise that you’ll find right here. It’s no wonder that DNSstuff is considered the “Center of the DNS Universe” by the millions and millions of IT professionals that rely on, and trust, our tools day in and day out. We are proud to have become home to one of the largest tech communities on the Internet.

Why is DNSstuff better than the rest? Another great question. Sure, our tools have “special sauce,” but it’s the fact that they dive deep down into the server - analyzing data bit-by-bit, packet-by-packet - that makes all the difference. We diagnose, we offer mitigation steps, and – most importantly – we keep you in control. Systematic checks before, during, and after changes propogate are our stock and trade. It’s about helping you to be proactive and on top of your game – always.

And, if all that were not enough, we offer the latest and greatest networking and spam tools too. What else can you possibly ask for?

We are driven to excel by the loyalty and needs of our loyal fans. The quality and speed of tool results is what make us tick. We plan to keep this momentum going – promise!

HISTORY

DNSstuff.com was founded in 2002 by R. Scott Perry, a true Internet pioneer. He brought to the table his many years of Internet, DNS, and networking experience and then assembled an all-star team to help launch the dream. Scott still rolls up his sleeves as an active member of the DNSstuff.com team.

Who we are

Scott Perry

Scott Perry, Founder

What can we say about Scott, the super-smart DNS guru who created DNSstuff and gave us all a place to go during the day (and oftentimes long into the night)? He's a nice guy, a new dad, and a young entrepreneur with an established track record of building successful technology. He's also about to officially become an author, with a book on DNS basics about to hit the shelves. He's promised not to start smoking a pipe or wearing sports jackets with leather patches on the elbows once his book hits the bestseller list. When the book is made into a major motion picture, however, all bets are off! Email us at scottsbook@dnsstuff.com if you want to be notified of its' release date!

Rich Person

Rich Person, CEO

When not responding in the affirmative to incessant inquiries as to whether that is in fact his real name, Rich Person is driving the DNSstuff.com ship. He is the high-level ideas guy and is responsible for coining the phrase, "DNS is in our DNA." Seasoned and smart, he transformed Poindexter Systems from "out-of-business" to a colossal success in less than a year. When not at DNSstuff.com, he is either golfing or golfing. Next time you see him, ask about his two-piece kneecap.

Charles Stefanidakis

Charles Stefanidakis, CFO

Charlie is the financial steward of our Company and responsible for recruiting much of our Executive team. Sharp as a tack, he saved the Open Environment IPO from being derailed. As demanding as DNSsuff is, he remains a true family man, enjoying time with his five children - and 13 grandchildren - and even finds time to enjoy gardening and landscaping. Someday he'll realize his dream of becoming an astronomer, but for now his financial brilliance is very much appreciated at DNSstuff.com.

Arik Keller

Arik Keller, COO

Arik is responsible for steering our corporate development, and our current success is evidence that he is indeed an able pilot. He's got two beautiful little girls, he enjoys carpentry and golf, but he's got a wild side too - he ran with the bulls in Pamplona back in 1995. He tells us that someday he'll buy the 32-foot Legacy yacht that appears in a photograph on his wall, but we're not convinced - Arik is the most frugal guy on the planet. How frugal? According to Arik, his first car was his mom's brown Mercury Sable wagon. Did his mom know that she was driving Arik's car?

Paul Parisi

Paul Parisi, CTO

Paul is our DNS brain and strategic thinker. Whether it's during speaking engagements for such organizations as Web Innovators Group, or being quoted in the top trade periodicals in the industry, such as Network World, Paul is able to articulate the complexities of DNS into layman terms. A gifted photographer and woodworker, he uses his exceptional sense of humor to keep the office in high spirits. The most exhilarating moment of his life was marrying his wife, followed closely by the adoptions of his two children, Dan and Kate.

Kristina O'Connell

Kristina O'Connell, VP Marketing

If you're hearing persistent cries of "No worries", then you are definitely within earshot of our marketing guru, Kristina. She brings to the table more than fifteen years of marketing experience in the technology industry and thrives in the fast paced, high-pressure environments of a high tech start-up. We, here in the office, know it's 3:00 p.m. when she breaks into her daily laughing fit. The consummate athlete, Kristina runs, rides horses, and boats. She has run the Boston Marathon and has ridden shotgun in a NASCAR doing 150mph, but the thrill of her lifetime, so far, was galloping along the beach on Cricket, her oldest daughter's Arabian horse.

Andrea Wood

Andrea Wood, Director Engineering

An is all about the nuts-and-bolts of DNSstuff.com. She gets a "warm and fuzzy" feeling whenever she runs a DNSreport, but she's much more than your everyday techie - laughing in the face of death, in her youth she conquered the vicious overhanging 5.9-rated rock climb "They Died Laughing" in North Conway, NH. She misses her former climbing days, but now enjoys hanging out with her two kids (now that they're not teenagers anymore), kayaking, reading, and, of course, Battlestar Galactica (okay, so maybe there's a little bit of techie showing through). Blatantly disregarding the company's 'no fraternization' policy, An is married to another DNSstuff.com employee. This is, in fact, the third time that the Woods have worked at the same company.

Don Wood

Don Wood, Director Technology

We all feel safe with Don around. Don fights fires both figuratively and literally. When not busy securing our technology and infrastructure, Don is a real-life firefighter and EMT. Not to be outdone by his wife, Don counts a summit ascent of Mount Rainier in Washington as one of his accomplishments. Well on his way to obtaining his captain's license, Don assures us that his next house will be a boat. We're not sure that he's shared this plan with An, but we'll let them work that out in private.

Mike Lodge-Paolini

Mike Lodge-Paolini, Engineer

When it comes to our web application look and feel, it's Mike who makes it all happen. Navy trained, smart and efficient, Mike is always ready with an encouraging, "Now what did you break?" for his co-workers. His proudest moment came with Boot-camp graduation, and someday he'll be an astronaut...or a college professor... he hasn't quite made up his mind. He's already lived every gamer's dream by working for a summer as a game tester for Nintendo.

Dave Basson

Dave Basson, Principal Software Engineer

It's tough to sum up Dave in a single paragraph. The office "nice guy" and a family man, he is proficient on the trapeze (no kidding), has scaled the world's deadliest volcano, aspires someday to become a Particle Physicist, and very nearly went to art school. We're just glad that he shows up to work in one piece every single day (he's never missed a day of work) to dive into code and continually tweak the DNSstuff.com tools.

Kevin Hutchins

Kevin Hutchins, Customer Support

A recent addition to the DNSstuff.com family, Kevin helps to make our users even more thrilled with us than they already are, and he even doubles as our System Administrator. A history buff who enjoys the great outdoors and playing the violin, Kevin takes pride in the fact that he still maintains all ten fingers and all ten toes that he was graced with at birth (we're not here to judge his accomplishments). A modest man, he aspires not to be a superhero, but to someday be the faithful sidekick to a famous superhero.

Angela Heenan

Angela Heenan, Advertising Sales/Programs

Angela (a.k.a. Y-Dot) is DNSstuff's resident advertising sales queen. If you happen to be lacking energy on any particular day, go ahead and stand next to Ange and soak up some of hers, she's got plenty to go around. Though it has been a little while since she has performed any 'daffies' on the slopes, or has 'hung ten' off of the longboard, she still finds plenty to keep busy with. Whether inviting friends and family over for some Heenan hospitality, or spontaneous adventures with her family, good luck finding her standing still for more than a moment. Disney's Epcot Center has nothing on the Heenan's - Traveling around the world to discover her family's heritage was fun before kids, but her dream is to see her children discover their roots in China, France, and Ireland.

Teyent Tsegaye

Teyent Tsegaye, Software Engineer

Teyent, or 'TT' as she's affectionately known around the office, is a natural born problem-solver. Even when off the clock, she enjoys reading programming books and practicing C#. One of her proudest moments, along with the births of her beautiful children, was achieving her Masters in Computer Science. An outstanding scholar, she was the recipient of an Alumni Award from the Wentworth Institute of Technology Alumni Association. Someday she'll have enough funds set aside to live her dream of an early retirement and returning to the classroom - but this time in the role of teacher.

Dave Barker

Dave Barker, Business Development

If you're stopping by the office, be sure to pick up an extra large hazelnut coffee with cream and sugar for Dave. He brings a ton of industry experience to DNSstuff.com, and he's a walking treasure trove of interesting data. For instance, Dave reminds us that on September 2, 1752, the British Isles and all the English colonies - including those in America - lost 11 days as a result of the decision to adopt the Gregorian calendar. Dave is still somewhat upset by the fact that we'll never recoup those lost days. When not at DNSstuff.com, Dave is likely to be discussing theology, scuba diving, or involved in Massively Multiple Online Role-play gaming (MMORPG).
